This course will review the current science and clinical application of shockwave therapy as part of a multi-modal approach to care. It will discuss in detail the different types of pressure waves, focused and radial, so clinicians can decide between the various units on the market. In addition, the indications, contraindications and best practices of this novel modality will be reviewed. Clinical case studies will be presented, so the clinician will be able to obtain improved outcomes and understand shockwave’s integration with CMT, active care and other modalities. Finally, coding and billing will be presented.
Dr. DeFabio graduated from Trinity College and New York Chiropractic College and has been in practice since 1984. He has a chiropractic, orthopedic, nutritional sports medicine, and personal training background.
Certified Corrective Exercise & Sports Performance Specialist from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. His training, experience, and certification enables him to teach his patients how to move better and move more. He often integrates chiropractic care and exercise to a deliver the best possible service to his patients.
